How is spondylosis diagnosed?
Your doctor may check your medical history and perform a physical examination.
This includes observing your posture, physical condition and range of motion, assessing for pain during movement and conducting a neurological examination.

How is spondylosis treated?
Depending on the extent of the condition, your doctor may prescribe non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAIDs) to help alleviate the pain.
Physiotherapy may also be prescribed to help stretch and strengthen the spine and lower back and neck muscles. These exercises also help to increase the range of motion over time.
If symptoms persist, or there is evidence of severe nerve compression, you may be recommended to undergo decompression surgery or a procedure known as spinal fusion.
Other procedures include laminectomy and discectomy.
