Dr Inez Wong is an ophthalmologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
Her special interests are in strabismus management and surgery (in adults and children) and paediatric ophthalmology, specialising in a range of eye problems in children such as refractive errors, myopia, amblyopia, external and anterior segment diseases, cataract, glaucoma and retinopathy of prematurity. She also manages all general ophthalmological problems in adults and is experienced in performing adult cataract surgery and LASIK.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Wong was the head of the paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus service at the National University Hospital (NUH), and was a visiting consultant at Jurong Health Services and Health Promotion Board. She is currently a visiting consultant at NUH.
She graduated from Cambridge University, UK, and completed her ophthalmology training in Singapore. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. She underwent subspecialty fellowship training in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, UK.
She was the assistant professor and undergraduate medical education director in ophthalmology at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She has also trained many residents as a member of the core faculty of the NUH ophthalmic residency programme, and had been a regular examiner in both the undergraduate and postgraduate ophthalmology examinations.
Dr Wong has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in journals and book chapters, and has presented her work and conducted instructional courses at many regional and international meetings on paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
