Dr Sheri Lim is an obstetrician and gynaecologist (OBGYN) at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
She treats a variety of conditions including pregnancy and postnatal care, contraception, sexual health, women’s wellness, endometriosis, endometrial polyps, cervical polyps and ovarian cysts, fibroids, fertility and pap smear screening, intrauterine contraceptive device, menopause, menstrual disorders/abnormal vaginal bleeding, polycystic ovarian syndrome and abnormal vaginal discharge. Her focus is primarily on obstetrics, which has allowed her to walk alongside mothers and their families through different seasons of life.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Lim was a consultant OBGYN at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital, where she worked for over a decade.
She graduated from the Imperial College School of Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, UK. She worked in the UK National Health Service for 8 years including as a clinical research fellow at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital in London, earning a PhD in reproductive medicine in preterm labour at the Institute of Reproductive Development and Biology. She then obtained her postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, UK.
She headed to Hong Kong and worked at the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital assisting the leadership with implementing innovative quality health clinical set-ups such as a stem cell laboratory, while lecturing at the University of Hong Kong.
Dr Lim has published in various scientific journals and has presented papers in medical conferences in Singapore and internationally. Her passion however lies in education. She held senior teaching appointments in Yong Loo Lin, Lee Kong Chian and Duke-NUS Medical School as a clinical assistant professor and deputy vice-chair for the OBGYN Academic Clinical Program for undergraduate education.
She was also a physician faculty lead for family medicine doctors appointed by OBGYN ACP where she worked closely with family medicine doctors who were undergoing OBGYN training. She is keen to share her knowledge to empower and educate women to promote and protect their health for tomorrow.
Dr Lim has received numerous awards including several Singapore Health Quality Service Awards.
