Dr Eric Khoo is an endocrinologist at Gleneagles Hospital.
He manages diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and metabolic bone conditions, and has an interest in the role of diet, lifestyle and pharmacotherapy in metabolic diseases and diabetes mellitus, and the associated comorbidities and complications.
He is currently a visiting consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH).
Dr Khoo graduated from the University of Leicester, UK and continued his general medical training in Leicester. He completed his specialist training in endocrinology, diabetes and general internal medicine in the East Midlands (Nottingham, Derby and Boston, UK). During which he also received a doctorate in medicine from the University of Nottingham, UK, for studies in insulin resistance, body composition and exercise.
He was a member of the division of endocrinology, National University Health System and the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) School of Medicine. While there, he served as diabetes service director, clinical service director and head of endocrinology. He is an adjunct assistant professor in the department of medicine at NUS.
His research interest is in the role of diet, lifestyle and pharmacotherapy on metabolic diseases and diabetes mellitus. He has authored several publications in this field. Dr Khoo has also served on a few advisory boards, and received invitations to review grants and manuscripts.
