Dr Wesley Chong is an ophthalmologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
His special interests are in cataract and refractive surgery as well as comprehensive ophthalmology including the management of general conditions such as dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, floaters, retinal tears, refractive errors (myopia, presbyopia, astigmatism) and paediatric myopia control.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and obtained his master's. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Dr Chong further trained in cataract and comprehensive ophthalmology under the Singapore National Eye Centre's advanced clinical subspeciality programme, and completed his advanced cataract, intraocular lens and small incision cataract surgery training in India.
He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has co-authored international ophthalmology reference texts. His research work has also been presented and awarded at both local and international scientific conferences.
Aside from clinical work, Dr Chong was a clinical director of the primary eyecare department, programme director of the advanced diploma for optometrists, clinical associate professor at Duke-NUS EYE academic clinical programme and clinical lecturer in the NUS clinical faculty scheme.
